i'm a twentysomething earning my stripes (and degree) in graphic design.
from texas, to new york city, back to texas. this is my personal blog.

to quote fergie…

my body stay vicious
i be up in the gym
just working on my fitness

that’s right.
this school year is the school year of being healthy.

i’ve started off strong and reeeeeally hope i stick with it.

here’s my plan:

  • healthy decisions at the grocery store.
    - i’m not a huge vegetable lover, so i’m going for a lot of fruit! and on other things, i read the nutrition facts and ingredients list (staying away from high fructose corn syrup/things i can’t pronounce), i buy all-natural or organic things as much as i can.
  • consistently taking vitamins.
    - i’m currently taking a multivitamin, as well as biotin
  • portion control.
    - i’m bringing lunches to school/work with me, rather than eating unhealthily (and expensive) on campus. i make smaller sandwiches and pack small snacks (the snack sized ziploc bags are perfect for “100 calorie-ish” snacks). i pack things like pita chips, cheese cubes, grapes, apples, cashews, soy crisps, baked crackers, and THESE.SO.GOOD.
  • exercise class/working out on my own.
    - i’ve talked a little bit about the cats crunch class i’m in (15-min a day, intense abs workout class) and i’ve been staying afterward and working out on the elliptical or treadmill for 20-30 minutes a day, 4 times a week.

like i said, so far so good!
i’m not aiming to lose a lot of weight or completely denying myself the things i want or anything… in fact, i’ve always been on the small/practically underweight side. i’m just going for maintenance, mostly.
the older you get, the quicker it catches up with you. :)

here’s hoping for a healthy semester.
